Keywords are best identified by a person reviewing the most successful listings rather than an automated analysis. The purpose of the title is twofold.
First, the title's keywords will get your product listing included in a buyer's search results. Buyers must narrow down the 10 million eBay listings into a smaller, more manageable list of relevant products using search terms. Your title keywords must match the buyer's search terms or your listing will be excluded from their view.
Second, the title informs the buyer of your product's details. These details draw buyers into your listing so they can evaluate whether they wish to purchase it.
A title is composed of 4 parts:
- Brand name
- Item description, style and/or type
- Condition
- Optional - Retail value or other words to convey product value
Many buyers start their search with a brand name then narrow the search using a descriptive keyword. So start your research in the same manner. Start with just the brand name with brief description and add keywords. Choose the keywords that have the highest total sales, the average end price or the success rate.
