Know traffic trends

Regularly watch visitor trends to understand the ecommerce industry.

My interpretation of the recent decline in eBay traffic marketshare is that surfers are spending more time on social networking sites like MySpace, You Tube and Orkut. It does not appear that traffic is moving away from eBay to another ecommerce site since other big sites, such as Amazon and Overstock, are seeing a similar decline.
